Seven Gates
04:12
|
|||
The wise man of age in earnest states
The seven gates of fate
And hesitates to recite the name
Of which so few can only hope to claim
And realize it's far too late to reclaim
What was lost in the plague
Throughout time the truth of life
Is defined by your state of mind
I tried to break the tide
Sometimes you're left behind
Laughing at the world
Your shining self however small
Watching your face growing old
A deathless life far from home
Break the tide
Sometimes you're left behind

Wisdom of the Oak
02:56
|
|||
The strange man with no name
Resides in the old estate
A reclusive, hermit, freak
Hardly a word he speaks
He spends all his time
Trapped in his mind
The townsmen think he's insane
But I found the man
And he spoke his plan
He said to me
That across the fields
There lies a tree
Lost for centuries
Wisdom he sought
The answer he thought
Lied beneath those leaves
And when I found that tree
It smiled back at me
His eyes resting at peace

The Man I Killed
02:57
|
|||
Everyone tells me it's easy
It's not like it's someone you know
A strange calm comes over you
And you make the choice to live or die
But I'm not a killer
In a strange way, it was beautiful
All the different shapes and colours
Strewn across the scorched Earth
It was like nothing I'd seen before
But there was a familiarity at the same time
The smell of burnt flesh and warm blood
It was raw and organic
That could've been me
Everyone tries to tell me I made the right choice
Everyone else had to do the same
I don't want to be like everyone else
They all stand and watch
The words don't come easy
As I sit there and tell them
About the Man I Killed
